A series of three pictures Lucie, Friedrich and Karl. A game of deformations and distortions of the faces. This trial and error are captured in a research series.

 

Starting with an expressive image, an increasingly strong play with proportions and shifts develops over several steps. The experiments drawn on A6 with wax crayons are at the same time a testing of colours and their impact.

In the large, elaborate paintings, the focus was no longer on trying out new shapes and faces, but much more on the brushstroke and the dramatisation of the expression through layers of colour.
